We are excited to bring back our popular Worthington Summer Soccer Skill & Play Camps! These camps unify players of all levels, age groups and abilities as we come together for a week of skill development and game based playing opportunities. The JOY of playing is at the root of this program, and the goal is to help players continue their development in the great game of soccer in an action-packed, fun, and challenging environment, while providing the opportunity to get just a little bit more out of their summer soccer experience.
The weekly sessions will be led by Rob Smith (Worthington Soccer Director of Player Development) with assistance from Worthington United 94 staff coaches as well as recent high school and Worthington United graduates. Rob has years of knowledge and experience in the game, is a caring coach, and a GREAT teacher of the game.
Each week will provide the players:
- opportunities to learn about their CHARACTER and how to be a leader on and off the field,
- many opportunities to build soccer-related athleticism and overall FITNESS,
- numerous repetitions to use their soccer technique to build SKILL (dribbling, passing, finishing, defending),
- many opportunities to build GAME SENSE (learning the strategy and principles to help players become more confident and to make the game MORE ENJOYABLE).
Character, Fitness, Skill and Game Sense will be developed through a small-sided game play model.
